What information Solargy needs from you
Solargy requests that you submit the following information so that we can provide you with a complete and efficient Title 24 Energy Analysis for Compliance and / or Price Quotation.

(1) Project Contact Information
Please be sure to include all the following contact information:

Architect\Designer\Contractor

Building\Property Owner

Name

Name

Address

Address

Phone Number

Phone Number

Email Address

Email Address (optional)

(2) Architectural Drawings
We ask you to provide us with a
copy of your architectural drawings of your project. We use these drawing to extract the data needed to perform the Title 24 calculations. Ideally, we encourage you submit these drawings to us electronically via our Online Project Management Service area.

We retain these drawings for two reasons. First, we mark up the drawings while we are working on your project.  Second, if questions come up during plan check, we have a record set. If you do not have a copy of your architectural drawings of your project, upon request, we will not mark up your plans and will return them with your energy calculations.

Your submitted drawings should include the following information:
   • Site plan / Plot plan with north arrow
   • Floor plan(s)
   • Elevations
   • Sections
   • Window & door schedules
   • Project address
   • Owners name
   • Name and address of the person to be shown as the project designer
(this can also be the owner)

Please submit drawings in AutoCAD dwg or dxf format.

Please do not pick and choose through your drawings and remove important elements. For instance, many people will "X-Ref" their title block, and then fail to include it with the files they submit to us. This only complicates the process we are trying to simplify. When the drawings are plotted, we run the risk of losing the identity of the architect, the owners name and the project address, all of which are very important pieces of information necessary to complete our work. It is always better to send us too much information rather than not enough. We can decide which sheets we need to plot.

For an addition we may need additional information.  The reason for this is that there are several methods for performing the energy analysis.  We obtain the best results, as a rule, by modeling the existing house alone then modeling it (with changes) and the addition together.  We compare the two models and attempt to show that by virtue of the changes being made you are improving the overall energy efficiency of the building. In order to do this we would like to have the same information as above for the existing house. However, it is generally the case that existing plans are not available, so if we can obtain a sketch of the outline of the existing house (to scale) and window sizes in the various orientations, that will usually be enough. We can model just the addition and in some cases we can get it to comply without having to do anything out of the ordinary or use the existing house info. However, this approach will not work if there is a significant amount of glass.

Documentation you will get back from Solargy
For most projects it is required to submit 2 copies of your calculations, we will give you 3.
It is also required that your certificate of compliance and the current set of residential mandatory measures be added to your plans in some manner or fashion. Typically this is done by photo copying sheets of the report onto "
sticky-backs" (adhesive transparencies) and placing them onto a vellum for blueprinting.

You can choose any of the following methods to receive your Title 24 compliance documentation.

Electronic Documentation:
     • Using the
preferred Solargy Online Project Management Service, we will place all the
Title 24 documentation associated with your project into your personalized protected
folder. This documentation will include your Title 24 Energy compliance report(s) in
Adobe Acrobat PDF file and an AutoCAD Drawing in replacement of the of sticky-backs
as mentioned above. You can download your project’s documentation at any time.

This option give you the flexibility to add your title block and other pertinent information about the project to the drawings and maintains an aesthetic continuity to your set of plans. (If you do not have AutoCAD you can still plot our drawing file using other popular CAD software or download the free
Volo View Express software from AutoDesk).

Printed Documentation:
You can either pick it up from us, have a messenger pick it up, or we will be happy to mail it or overnight it to you.

Option 1
     • 3 copies of the report printed on standard 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper.
     • 1 set of sticky-backs, usually 7 or 8 pages of 8 1/2 by 11 inch.

Option 2
     • 3 copies of the report printed on standard 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper.
     • 1 vellum with sticky-backs pre-applied.
